Not the opening line you were expecting right? Well let me give you some context…
I like to try new things. New foods, new experiences, new culture, and so on. But for me trying is challenging. Even in my formative thought of trying something new I quickly feel overwhelmed and begin to make excuses of making any sort of effort which typically leads me into backing out altogether. It’s just easier to keep doing what I know or in my case just keep eating Pad Tai.
This past week I’ve learned a lot about the difference between trying and doing. This week I participated in something life-changing and did a lot of first. I took my first flight by myself, I requested my first Uber, I ate something other than Pad Tai to name a few. This week was about reframing my life and not settling for the “cheeseburger of the Tai world” as a friend called it, but pushing through the strongholds that breed fear into a new and more enriching reality.
For the past three days I spent some time with some amazing people from all over the country learning how to coach people from their status quo to a a new future point of purpose. To put it simply, I learned about transformation.
Because here’s the reality, we are all in need of some sort of transformation; in our health, in our relationships, in our workplaces, our spiritual lives, __________ (you fill in the blank). The problem lies in moving from point A to point B, because point B appears to be unobtainable. But the truth is that point B is possible if we are willing to DO the work. As Jedi Master Yoda puts it, “Do. Or do not. There is no try.”
Today I’m going to stop trying and do. And part of my doing is helping you. So if you are struggling with always defaulting to your cheeseburger and are wanting to pursue something different, I’d love to coach you through that process. I don’t claim to be an expert in your field or situation, but I do care about what you want in life and I want to see you succeed.
If this is resonating with you, I would love to start a conversation. Please take a moment and fill out the form below and give me an idea of what you would like to achieve. Maybe simply filling out the form is your first step in doing. Hopefully we’ll see.
